Poppyfields

I got this cute Penny Black image from a swap that I hosted last year. I used my SU markers with blender pen and aquapainter. I added some dazzling diamond glitter to the flowers and butterflies. I had trouble getting a good picture, I took several, they were all waaayyy too light. This is is kind of dark, but it looked better than the other ones.

Stamps used: Penny Black "Poppyfields, Delight in life
Paper: whisper white, wild wasabi, groovy guava, soft sky so saffron, certainly celery
Inks: stazon black, several ink pads for coloring, wild wasabi for words
Accessories: paper flowers, brad, dazzling diamonds glitter, double stitched line wheel.

A beautiful magazine page

I created this card for Color Challenge 157 from SCS. The colors to use are Basic Gray, Purely Pomegranate and Basic Black. I still don't own Basic Gray. Yesterday when I was looking thru a magazine for the Faux Cloissone Technique I also came across this beautiful page. I wanted to make a card using it. Today was the day. I thought the gray looks kind of like the Basic gray with some black in it. Stamps: Riveting Paper: Whisper White, Purely Pomegranate, Magazine Page Ink: White craft Accessories: white embossing powder, pomegranate stitched ribbon, circle punches, black brads, paper piercing set.

Thanks for looking!!

Faux Cloissone TLC159

Here is my card for today's technique lover's challenge from SCS. Thanks for a great challenge, Betty.

I have never done a faux cloissone card before, but it is not too hard. All you have to do, is find a pretty magazine or calendar page, emboss an outline stamp and cut it out.

The stamp sets I used are In full Bloom (retired SU), polka dots and petals and birthday whimsy, as well as Paisly Background stamp on the bottom portion of the card base (you can't see that in the picture).
Cardstock used: Garden Green, pretty in pink, whisper white
Ink: Versamark and garden green
Accessories: gold embossing powder, blender pen for coloring in the leafs that I stamped on the white strip of CS. I also applied stardust stickles to the flowers. Bluebird and mustard grosgrain ribbon.
Not sure I like how this turned out, I might have to try again later.

WSC38

This is for Beate's weekend sketch Challenge #38. Check it out her blog here: http://beate.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/

First let me tell you that I am not a very creative stamper. I get most of my inspirations from other stampers from SCS, stamp magazines and Stampin Up.
The base of this card is Soft sky. I sponged the edges with chocolate chip ink. The Designer papers I used were cut to fit on the card front. I got this DP at Hobby Lobby. I used the stamp set "Natural Beauty" (retired SU), which is one of my all time favorite stamps. I stamped the word stamp in soft sky on soft sky CS and sponged the edges again with chocolate chip ink and distressed the edge. I ripped a hole in the middle and put the bird thru the whole (this was done in one of the older SU catalogs) The bird is stamped with choc. chip ink on soft sky paper and colored with blender pen and not quite navy ink. I attached it with a dimensional. The flowers and butterfly were stamped with chocolate chip ink on the same designer papers that I used for the card background and cut out with sharp scissors. Brads and hardware are from the aged copper set. The word "wish" comes from the words stamp from the same stamp set. I just used my marker to ink that word, then trimmed it to fit the HPH. I used the end of an SU order form (the strip with the holes) for easier brad placement. Ribbon is from JoAnn's, I sponged it with choc. chip ink for an aged look. Thank you for looking. :)
